Neurologist MD, MSc, PhD(c), Research Associate in the 1st Department of Neurology, Aiginition University Hospital in Athens

Efthalia Angelopoulou, MD, is a neurologist, clinical research associate, and PhD candidate at the Neurology Department of Aiginition University Hospital, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She currently works at the Outpatient Clinic for Memory, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease through the National Telemedicine Network, and has participated in the TeleCogNition research project funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI). She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2012 with an IKY scholarship and completed her neurology residency at Aiginition University Hospital in 2021. She holds an MSc in Molecular and Applied Physiology, awarded with an Onassis Foundation Scholarship. Her research experience includes participation in national and European projects, such as SI4CARE-ADRION and the National Precision Medicine Network for Neurodegenerative Diseases (EDIAN). She is an active member of the European Academy of Neurology and served for three years as RRFS representative of the Neuroepidemiology Scientific Panel. Her clinical and research interests focus on early neuropsychiatric manifestations of neurodegenerative diseases, dementia risk, and the integration of telemedicine and AI technologies to improve equitable access to high-quality neurological care.
