Dr. Athos Antoniades, PhD, is a distinguished leader in bioinformatics and computational biology, driving impactful innovation in healthcare and applied science. As Founder and Head of Research at Stremble Ventures LTD, he spearheads a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge scientific solutions through a contract research business model, addressing complex challenges with interdisciplinary expertise. Previously, he led the Bioinformatics Team at the University of Cyprus eHealth Lab, where he fostered a collaborative environment, securing funding for numerous EU and nationally funded projects, contributing significantly to advancements in healthcare informatics and data analytics. Also, he has served as a Consultant to the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) under the Ministry of Health of Cyprus, and as Advisor to the NeHA President, providing strategic guidance on integrating advanced technologies into Cyprus’s healthcare landscape. His research, supported by GlaxoSmithKline, focused on developing algorithms and platforms for analyzing complex genetic data. He created platforms for multi-omics analytics, advancing drug target discovery and gene pathway understanding. His contributions span leadership roles within various EU/national-funded projects such as CARDIOCARE (WP leader), CyprusGenome.org, and COMFORTAGE (Scientific Coordinator), Myeloma-Risk ERC PoC (leading the omics analyses), showcasing his dedication to scientific excellence and international collaboration.
