Dr. Zinonas C. Antoniou received his BSc in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens in 2010 and his PhD from the University of Cyprus in 2018. Since 2012, he has been a Special Research Scientist at the eHealth Lab, University of Cyprus, with over a decade of experience in adaptive, real-time medical video delivery and scalable, technology-independent medical systems. His research focuses on eHealth and mHealth, and he has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Antoniou has played a key role in numerous national and European research projects, including GRANATUM, eENERCA, FI-STAR, NCPeH, eHealth4Ageing, eHealth4U, and EUDCC. He currently serves as Project Coordinator of the PRECIOUS project, advancing AI-driven precision tracheostomy, and as Lead Technical Manager for EESSI Cy, ensuring secure EU-wide social security data exchange. Additionally, he is the Technical Lead for NCP-A cross-border services under myHealth@EU. His expertise in IHE, epSOS, and CDA standards has been instrumental in cross-border eHealth interoperability, leading major initiatives such as the IHE Connectathon 2016 and the eHDSI 2017-2024 testing sessions, significantly contributing to the advancement of digital health services in Europe.
