Maria Ioannidou

Maria Ioannidou is a client-centered Occupational Therapist experienced in mental health rehabilitation and dementia. With a BSc in Occupational Therapy and currently pursuing a Master’s in Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (ManagiDiTH), Maria bridges clinical expertise with emerging technologies. 

She has advanced expertise in group therapy, daily living skills training, and cognitive rehabilitation, with a keen interest in leveraging technological evidence-based practices aimed at customized therapeutic interventions. Her clinical experience spans across multiple mental healthcare settings, including PEPSAEE and Iasis NGO. 

Her research focuses on integrating technology in Occupational Therapy, evidenced by her BSc thesis, “The role of Occupational Therapy during a pandemic”, and her oral presentations. 

Recent presentations in collaboration with I. Pagani and C. Athanasopoulou include: 1st Panhellenic Conference on Eating Disorders (Sept 2024): “The contribution of Occupational Therapy in Anorexia Nervosa and the role of technology”, and 3rd International Conference on Applied Research in Rehabilitation (May 2024): “Occupational Therapy Groups via Tele-rehabilitation: A Narrative Review”. 

Her work specifically addresses how digital transformation enhances therapeutic outcomes for various populations, including those with chronic conditions and mental health challenges. Maria remains active in the field through her ongoing volunteer work with geriatric populations.
