Former President, Cyprus Federation of Patients’ Associations (CyFPA), Cyprus
Marios Kouloumas was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. He is working at the Nicosia General Hospital. For the last 25 years he has been actively involved as a volunteer in the patient movement both nationally and internationally.
He was the president of CyFPA, the umbrella organization representing national patient organizations of Cyprus. He is a qualified Patient Research Partner and Patient Expert.
He was president and currently honorary president of the Cyprus Organization of people with RMDs, and former VP and honorary member of the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology. He served as an official in several organizations in Cyprus and abroad.
He has been awarded with EULAR’s highest distinction, The Meritorious Contribution Award. He was also honored by the NGO POLITIA with The Democracy Award 2022.
He was a member of several national committees and initiatives. He is a member of the Committee of the National Centre for Excellence. He is also a member of the Studies Committee of the Medical Scholl University of Cyprus and an honorary member of the Centre of Excellence of the Biobank Cy. He participated in many congress, conferences, workshops and research projects.
