George Loudos

Co-Founder, CEO, Bioemtech, Greece

Dr. George Loudos is co-founder and CEO at Bioemtech. Between 2008 and 2021 he was an Assistant Professor at University of West Attica (Athens, Greece). Today, he is also serving as a board member of Hellenic Biocluster (Hbio). He is the co-inventor of the “eyes” desktop imaging systems and the fillable mouse and rat phantom. Starting from 3 persons, he helped Bioemtech to grow to a 50 person company today, establishing its own certified preclinical laboratories and designing its unique imaging products. Today, Bioemtech technology is exported in several world leading laboratories in US, Europe and Asia, while international pharma companies test their compounds in Bioemtech laboratories. During his academic career he has participated as a coordinator or partner in more than 20 EU projects, as well as two National Excellence grants and several smaller national and other projects. He has published >130 articles in international journals and has >250 publications in conference proceedings and ~2000 citations. The overall funding through European and National grants exceeds 6M€. He has been organizer of many international conferences, workshops and training schools. His research interests are focused on Molecular Imaging of radiopharmaceuticals, nanoparticles and other biomolecules using Nuclear Medicine Techniques and Medical Instrumentation. He strongly supports interdisciplinary cooperation and education in the field of nanomedicine and molecular imaging. Over the past years, he is strongly interested in efficient technology transfer and scaling up of new deep technology companies.
