Eleftherios Thireos, MD, MSc in Public Health, PhD, is a General Practitioner/Family Physician, Director of the National Health System – Vari Health Center.
He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens. Doctor of Medicine, Medical School of the University of Crete. Postgraduate training in Public Health at the National School of Public Health and in the European Educational Programs for the Promotion of Mental Health (University of Athens/King’s College/ETHICS).
He is currently Head of the General Directorate, at the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Health (AQAH S.A.).
Member of the “Committee for the Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Expenditure, the Completion of Diagnostic/Therapeutic Protocols and the Creation of Patient Registries” and Member of Scientific Working Groups for the Development of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Prescription Protocols and National Registries of the Ministry of Health (2014 to date).
Chairman of the Committee of the use of ICT in the Primary Health Care, Ministry of Health (2021-2022).
Scientific Coordinator – Member of the Board, Health Units S.A. (2005 – 2013).
External Evaluator of the Committee for the Evaluation and Reimbursement of Medicines for Human Use.
Scientific Associate of the Department of Public Health Policies, School of Public Health, University of West Attica.
Participation as a lecturer in MSc in the subjects of Primary Health Care and Public Health, quality of health services and clinical governance, clinical studies, eHealth applications and big data analysis (real world evidence).
