Interoperability Specialist, EY

John Meredith is an Interoperability Specialist in EY’s Global Digital Health Center of Excellence, focussing on standards-based digital health architecture, interoperability, and data and terminology modelling. He has 20+ years’ experience across public and private sector health and care, with a track record spanning open platforms, digital care records, and the practical implementation of semantic interoperability using openEHR, HL7 FHIR and SNOMED CT. He has worked on national deployment programmes of open health platforms and has a proven track record delivering standards-based digital architecture programmes at local and national scale. He brings a particular interest in how semantic interoperability frameworks and clinical vocabularies enable adoption at market level. Alongside his role at EY, John is a Director at openEHR International. His research and publications focus on clinical data standards and modelling, including work on semantic interoperability frameworks and problem-oriented record structures. John is undertaking a PhD in Digital Healthcare Data Standards and Interoperability and holds an MSc in Health Informatics and an MPhil in Digital Signal and Image Processing.
