Konstantinos Michalitsis holds a degree in Informatics Applications Engineering from the Department of Informatics of the Hellenic Open University of Patras. He has been trained in methods of analysis and mapping of use cases for the needs of interoperability in the Health Sector, Cybersecurity, Digital Evidence and Cyber Threat Intelligence as well as in Strategic and Business Planning. He has designed and developed information systems for Health and Social Security. He is the Head of the Directorate of Secondary Health Care Systems, dealing with the IT service of the Health Units of the NHS, to support their business operations through integrated information systems. He is responsible for projects and member of Project Management Teams, Digital Transformation of the Health Sector implemented through the Recovery & Resilience Fund and the Public Investment Program, such as projects “Installation of RIS/PACS and a system for transcribing medical acts & reports in the Health Units of the country”, “Integrated Care System for Oncology-Hematology Patients”, “Improving the Digital Readiness of Hospitals”, the adoption of the new ICD10Grm coding and the Greek classification of medical procedures for the implementation of the hospital services costing system (DGRs) and others. His current activities include studies on the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet Things (IoT) in the field of Health.
