The session “Technical & Business Tracks: New Services for European Citizens – Wallet & Digital Health Services – Part 2 – From Use Cases to Experimentation: Getting Ready for the IHE Plugathon in Brussels” focused on bridging the gap between conceptual use cases and hands-on experimentation in preparation for the upcoming interoperability testing activities.
During the session, moderated by Nicole Veggiotti, European Affairs Project Owner, IHE Connectathon Manager at IHE Catalyst, the Xt-EHR use cases were presented in detail, highlighting how extended Electronic Health Record services can support cross-border data exchange and enable new digital health services for European citizens within the EHDS framework.
In addition, the Personas developed in the context of the XiA and Gravitate-Health projects were introduced, illustrating realistic user journeys and needs, and providing a structured way to validate both technical and business requirements against concrete citizen scenarios.
A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the typologies of test cases that will be implemented during the IHE Plugathon for EHDS Primary Usage. These test cases are designed to validate interoperability workflows, data exchange mechanisms, and conformance with agreed technical specifications.
Among the main outcomes of the session were: a clearer alignment on the scope of the Xt-EHR use cases; agreement on how Personas will be used to guide validation and evaluation activities; a shared understanding of the testing strategy, including functional, interoperability, and scenario-based test cases; lastly, the definition of next steps for technical preparation and stakeholder coordination.
Overall, the session strengthened the collaboration between technical and business tracks, ensuring that experimentation at the IHE Plugathon will be both technically robust and closely aligned with real citizen-centric service needs.
