EHDS in Motion
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) and the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF) are moving from policy and specifications into a phase of real-world implementation. At the same time, several EU-funded projects (including i2X, MyHealth@MyHands, xShare, Xt-EHR, and XiA) are developing complementary assets, ranging from FHIR Implementation Guides and testing environments to wallets, registries, and validation services.
However, implementation does not take place in Brussels alone; it happens within national health systems, shaped by existing infrastructures, healthcare organisations, vendors, and national priorities. Greece is in a unique position, as it already operates MyHealth@EU services, participates in multiple EHDS-related projects, and is developing new national initiatives such as cancer registries and digital public health services.
Athens Digital Health Week provides a valuable opportunity to connect EU-level initiatives with a national ecosystem, moving beyond presentations toward co-creation, alignment, and technical feasibility testing.
