Ioannis Asproloupos

Coordinator of Hellenic National Contact Point for e-Health, Head of Development Department, Directorate of Horizontal e-Health Actions, DG e-Health, IDIKA S.A., Greece

Ioannis Asproloupos is serving as the Head of Development Department at the Directorate of Horizontal e-Health Actions | DG e-Health | IDIKA SA, the e-Government Center for Social Security and e-Health Services in Greece.

He has nearly 30 years of experience in software development, web design, IT consulting, IT training, and e-health interoperability, holding an advanced master’s degree in Engineering of Mobile and Pervasive Computing Systems and a university degree in Informatics from Hellenic Open University (HOU).

As the coordinator of the Hellenic National Contact Point for cross-border e-Health, his mission is to lead its operation and integration to the European MyHealth@EU infrastructure, support and facilitate the exchange and access of health data and services across the EU, whilst promoting interoperability, innovation, and quality standards.

What is more, he participates in various European and national initiatives in the field of e-health interoperability, such as: So Health – Smart Open Internet Services for Health, CEF – Connecting Europe Facility, NeHIF – National e-Health Interoperability Framework, extensions of NCPeH cross-border e-health services – ELLENA, XtEHR, TEDHAS, GR-HDAB, Potential, and other actions related to the EU4Health Programme and the emerging European Health Data Space (EHDS) ecosystem, acting as the technical manager or contributing to them on behalf of IDIKA, in the context of primary and secondary use of data.

His interest is focused in applying ubiquitous, pervasive, mobile, wearable, web, interoperability technologies and international standards, especially in the field of e-health, in order to enhance the health and well-being of citizens by improving the quality and efficiency of health care delivery and research.
