Programme Officer, EU Policies of Unit H3 – eHealth, Wellbeing and Ageing, Directorate-General CNECT, European Commission
Kyriacos Hatzaras serves as Programme Officer for EU Policies at Unit H3, eHealth, Wellbeing and Ageing at the European Commission Directorate-General CNECT, with a policy focus on digital health and advanced health technologies since 2021. He is a Chartered Engineer with 25+ years’ experience in science and technology, ICT infrastructure management, digital including AI-based innovation and regulatory compliance in health service delivery, clinical trials, and medical devices. He previously held senior positions in industry and fellowships at the Imperial College Business School and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He has been a member of the EU-US Health IT Collaborative EHR Working Group, Health IT Lead at King’s College London, NIHR-funded researcher for the UK National Centre for Infection Prevention and Management, and has acted as a reviewer and expert for the WHO. He holds advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London and European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
