Maria Makridaki holds a PhD in Optical Neuroscience from the University of Manchester and currently acts as the Business Development and Innovation Manager at the Center of eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) of FORTH-ICS. With a strong focus on digital health, she develops strategies for the adoption of new healthcare technologies and fosters collaborations with research institutions, healthcare providers, and businesses. She plays a key role in designing and promoting eHealth services aimed at improving healthcare delivery through digital transformation. As part of the management team of the European Digital Innovation Hub “smartHEALTH”, she actively promotes healthcare innovation in Greece. Maria’s expertise spans technology transfer, innovation management, intellectual property rights and access to funding. A certified innovation manager and former IPR Helpdesk Ambassador for Greece, she has successfully coordinated numerous national and EU projects, contributed to the creation of spin-offs, and guided research teams in commercializing their results.
