Outi Ahonen

Principal Lecturer, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Finland

Outi Ahonen (PhD in Social and Health Care Information Management, Master of Science in Nursing, RN) works as a principal lecturer at Laurea University of Applied Sciences (UAS). She is leading the master education’s team Effectiveness of Health Care and research theme “Digitality and information management in society” at Laurea. She is the project manager of the National DigiNet network, which coordinates nationwide cooperation between different levels of education related to the digitalisation of healthcare and social welfare under the guidance of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. She has worked as a project manager in many projects that have developed competence in the development of digital services in healthcare and social welfare. She is currently working as the content lead of the MangiDITH EU project, which develops multidisciplinary master’s degree programmes related to the development of electronic social and healthcare services, and XIA Erasmus project, which create studies to VET, bachelor and master level of education under the micro credentials education framework about European Health Data Space. She is the President of the Board of the Finnish Society for Telemedicine and eHealth. In addition, she is a deputy member of the Council of the Finnish Nurses’ Association.
