Sofia Franconi holds an engineering degree in physics and has experience in medical device design. She has been managing IHE-Europe European Affairs Team since April 2021, contributing to European projects such as XeHealth (Electronic Health Record exchange format), UNICOM (IDMP adaptation and implementation), XpanDH (WP leader for Organisational Readiness), and xShare. She is working actively in EEHRxF projects, supporting the development of the European Electronic Health Record exchange format.
As an Interoperability Solution Architect, she leads initiatives that align digital health solutions with evolving European regulatory frameworks, particularly in the context of the European Health Data Space (EHDS). She also contributes to health IT education and industry collaboration, driving forward interoperability adoption across healthcare sectors.
