Dr. Agathi (Angie) Fasoula is Co-Founder and Chief Science & Technology Officer of MIMA Technologies P.C., a deep-tech start-up newly established in Athens, Greece, to develop highly differentiated microwave imaging products for medical diagnostics, with initial focus on breast cancer screening. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from TUDelft, The Netherlands and brings nearly two decades of research and industrial experience in radar systems engineering, microwave medical imaging and diagnostics, including leading the full development cycle of the Wavelia Microwave Breast Imaging (MWBI) system, since initial system conception and all along its 2-cycles of prototyping and successful clinical evaluations at Galway University Hospital, Ireland (2018-2024). In 2006 she was awarded the prestigious Marie-Curie fellowship for Early-Stage Researchers which allowed funding of her PhD research while gaining valuable industrial radar engineering experience within Thales Group in the Netherlands and France (2006-2011). After 2-year post-doctoral research on brain connectivity analysis within the EEG/MEG unit of Paris Brain Institute, since late 2013 she specialized in Microwave Breast Imaging within Microwave Vision Group (MVG)-Wavelia. Her state-of-the-art MWBI research work has been presented in various conferences and led to a series of peer-reviewed journal articles, a book chapter and filing of 4 patents.
