Dr. Alain Kenfak is a board-certified specialist in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine with nearly 20 years of experience across both resource-limited and resource-rich healthcare settings. His academic and professional journey—from Cameroon to Switzerland—has shaped a pragmatic, evidence-based approach that bridges clinical care, research, and healthcare leadership. As the Chief Medical Officer of Réseau de l’Arc, an integrated healthcare organization in western Switzerland, he contributes to defining and implementing the medical strategy and driving complex transformation initiatives. He has led major restructuring efforts, including the merger of two hospitals, and played a key role in coordinating the institution’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His scope includes infection prevention and control, quality management systems, and the development of public health capabilities within the organization. He is also actively involved in strengthening regional healthcare integration, fostering collaborative, sustainable care pathways across the network. Dr. Kenfak oversees a multidisciplinary workforce of approximately 400 staff—around 250 physicians and 150 healthcare professionals—and has supported the launch of specialized services such as Epidemiology and Hospital-at-Home. He also plays a strategic role in medical workforce planning and the recruitment of senior and attending physicians, ensuring alignment with cantonal requirements and the objectives of the integrated care network.
