Apostolia Karabatea

R&D Manager, Gnomon Informatics SA, Greece

Dr. Apostolia Karabatea holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Applied Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is a certified IT Project Manager and a certified Manager of Educational Units (Panteion University, Athens). She currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Medicine of Democritus University of Thrace. She has worked at the Radiocommunications Laboratory of AUTh, at OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), and at T-Mobile (Los Angeles and San Francisco) as Designer and Project Leader. She has collaborated as an external partner with the Medical School of AUTh in the fields of Hygiene and Primary Care, and with WHO Europe in training medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Karabatea has extensive experience in managing national, European (Horizon), international research projects, as well as Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) initiatives. Since 2021, she has been working at Gnomon Informatics S.A. as R&D Manager, leading e-health projects focused on chronic disease management, wellbeing, and vulnerable populations, including elderly and patients with chronic diseases.
