Christina Georgakopoulou
Head of the Directorate of Information Technology, National Organization for Healthcare Services Provision (EOPYY), Greece
Christina Georgakopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly A.S.O.E.E.) and holds a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management from the National School of Public Health (ESDY). She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Nursing of the University of West Attica (UNIWA), with a doctoral thesis entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications on Hospitalization Data for the Improvement of Health Services.”
Since 2002, following six (6) years of professional experience in the private sector in the field of Information Technology, she worked at the Social Insurance Institute (IKA) in the Directorate of Informatics until 2012. With the establishment of EOPYY in 2012, she was transferred to the Directorate of Informatics of EOPYY. From 2014 until May 2021, she served as Head of the Department of IT Project Management and Support of Community Programs within the Directorate of Informatics. Since May 2021 to the present, she has been serving as Director of Informatics at the National Organization for Healthcare Services Provision (EOPYY).
She has participated as a representative of EOPYY in numerous conferences in Greece, mainly related to the Digital Transformation project of EOPYY and, more broadly, to the Organization’s modernization initiatives. She has also represented EOPYY at conferences across Europe.
She has undertaken the coordination of the Digital Transformation Action of EOPYY, which has been implemented by the Organization since August 2023.
