Cardiologist, Director, National Health System (ESY), in Primary Health Care, Greece

Christina Malakou began her medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Louvain, Belgium, and subsequently continued at the Medical School of the University of Athens, from which she graduated in 1988. She received further training in the United Kingdom, at the Vascular Surgery Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University of Birmingham. She obtained her specialization in Cardiology from the 251 General Air Force Hospital and pursued subspecialty training in Hypertension at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center. She has participated in scientific studies and research protocols, with presentations and publications in Greek and international journals and conferences. From 1998 to 2018, she served as Scientific Director of the Cardiology Laboratory at IASO Hospital. She currently holds the position of Director within the National Health System (ESY) and serves in Primary Health Care. In addition, she has held the position of Vice President of the Organization of Social Protection and Solidarity for the Municipality of Vrilissia. She was also an active member of the Municipal Social Medical Clinic of Vrilissia, concentrating on preventive health care and playing a role in the establishment of the Memory and Dementia Clinic in 2016.
