Ioannis Karagiannis

Chairman of the Board of Directors, IDIKA Single Member S.A.

Ioannis Karagiannis serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDIKA Single Member S.A., the E-Government Center for Health and Social Security Single Member Société Anonyme.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds an LL.M. in European Union Law from the School of Law, University of Essex. He also holds a Master’s degree in “Strategic Management of Environment, Disasters and Crises in Administrative and Development Sectors” from the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He served as Mayor of Lagkadas for three terms (2003–2006, 2007–2010, 2014–2019). From 2014 to 2019, he was President of the Association of Greek Municipalities with Thermal Springs. During the same period (2014–2019), he served as Second Vice President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), and from 2020 to 2023 as Director General of KEDE.

He is an Expert and Coordinator for the transfer of know-how between the Ministries of Interior of Greece and Cyprus in the field of implementing Local Government reform in Cyprus, pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on 19 October 2022 between the two Ministries of Interior.
