Dimitrios Katehakis

Head of Center for eHealth Applications and Services, FORTH-ICS; HL7 Hellas BoD Member; Director, Hellenic Digital Health Cluster (HDHC), Greece

Dimitrios G. Katehakis (M) is the head of the Center for eHealth Applications and Services (CeHA) at the Institute of Computer Science, FORTH, since 2010. He is also the Director of the Hellenic Digital Health Cluster (HDHC), since 2021. He holds Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of Patras, Greece (Diploma), and the University of Maryland, College Park (MS). His work focuses on advancing digital health through the introduction of innovative EHR services and fostering innovation ecosystems through collaboration, experimentation, and driving change. He has participated in numerous EU co-funded projects -including IRHIS, PRECISEU, smartHEALTH, and EHR-IMPLEMENT- and collaborated with institutions such as the University of Maryland at Baltimore, the Greek National Defense Ministry, and OTE. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL Foundation specialist, Dimitrios has overseen the implementation of four integrated systems for Greek Regional Health Authorities and managed over 400 EHR projects for the NHS. He has also held leadership roles with HL7 Hellas, the Hellenic Health Informatics Association, and other national committees. He actively contributes to international publications and is a regular reviewer and program committee member for leading journals and conferences.
