Nikolaos Vagalis

Head, Production Operations Department, General Directorate of eHealth, IDIKA SA, Greece

Nikolaos Vagalis is Head of the Production Operations Department at the General Directorate of eHealth at IDIKA SA, the e-Government Center for Health and Social Security Single Member Société Anonyme in Greece. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from South Bank University and an MSc in Interactive Multimedia from Westminster University in London. He has over 20 years of experience as a software engineer, specializing in databases and in the design, analysis, and implementation of information systems and interoperability solutions with heterogeneous healthcare systems. He has played a key role in the development and integration of the Pharmacy module of the ASKLEPIOS Hospital Information System with critical national systems, including the e-Prescription system, EKAPY, the HIV Registry, HSPADIF, and HMVO for prescription execution using GTIN QR Code technology. He has also contributed to the development and integration of the Admissions Office module of ASKLEPIOS with the KETEKNY DRG Grouper system. At an administrative level, he has an active role in eHealth projects, serving as a member of the Monitoring Committee of the EPSMY project and as President of the project “Integrated Care System for Oncology and Hematology Patients.”
